Rosemarie Brown Godfrey - Rosemarie Brown, 91, passed away peacefully at 3:30 am on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 22, 1932, in Chicago to William and Rena (Menu) Pfaff. She married Lester A Brown in Alton in 1958. He preceded her in death in 2000. Rosemarie's greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She took great pride in raising her seven children and taking care of her family as well as seeing her grandkids and great grandkids. Later in life, she worked as a Purchasing Agent for St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Crisis Food Center in Alton for many decades until she was unable to drive. She was a Cardinal fan through and through during their good and bad years and she truly enjoyed watching the hummingbirds feeding outside her window every year.
